System responds with a display of flight details organized in columns: PNR code, Class of Service, Last Name and First name for passenger marked as No Show.

When system triggers the automated flight close process, meaning that flight was not close by PD entry, the no show list will not be available.

During the Flight Close process, which is irreversible, system will cancel all passengers that were No Show (according to the airline configuration) by adding a *NO SHOW* indicator next to the e-ticket status.  Flight Coupon status will change from "C" Checked-in) to "F" (Flown) for all passengers that actually flown, ending the e-ticket life cycle, if this is the last or only leg for the flight system will build an email including all the commercial flight details.

Use the following entry to close the flight:

POST DEPARTURE FLIGHT 4580/26JUL AEP

Flight close process will trigger commercial messages (VIC) to the pre-determined addresses.

Regarding the NO SHOW passengers, unless cancelled for other reasons, those are automatically sent to the queue 95 belonging to the departing city. In addition, the system will add a remark to all adult and child passenger PNRs informing that they were marked as NO SHOW.

When working on a flight which departure date is 1 day earlier, replace the date with a "-" sign, to let the system know that the departure date is the day earlier.

For example, if the flight is scheduled to depart on March 06, but the flight actually departed on March 07 enter the command shown below.

If the airline is configured for sending operational messages as mandatory on the JJCHK table, then messages must be sent before closing the flight (PD). Otherwise, the system will not allow to close the flight.

If the DCS shows all flight legs cancelled, the system will allow to close the flight (PD) without sending operational messages because there are no records for cargo nor for MVT.

When the flight is initialized in Kiu DCS (automatically or manually) and nothing else is done on the flight, passengers with a confirmed PNR will have their flight coupons changed to IRREGULAR TRANSACTION. When passengers are accepted on the flight but it has not been closed (PD), it will be shown in the History (PH with PU filter) and on the e-ticket history (the flight coupon status changes from O to C, and then from C to I) Or, if a passenger is not accepted and the flight is not closed (PD), Flight History will not show any PU and the e-ticket changes directly from O to I. Also Kiu will assume all passengers as boarded on the PC or PLC.

Automated Flight Closure

When flights are NOT closed manually, as mentioned above, flights will be automatically closed by the system after 14 hours from the estimated time of arrival (ETA).

This process will not allow to have flights that were initiated and remain open.
This process will generate all what has been mentioned above. Therefore, if there is a flight open and no action was taken, the system will proceed to check all passengers confirmed and change their flight coupon status to I (Irregular Transaction) on the e-ticket. These coupons will later have to be manually updated using the entry to change flight coupon status. Besides the transported passengers statistics will not be generated nor action will be taken for NO SHOW passengers and neither the Post flight departure occupancy rate report will be sent.
This feature also allows to have email alerts created in order to let the airline know that there are flights going to be closed by the automated flight closure (Kiu Auto Process).
This process is executed when the system detects that there is a flight initialized for check-in and after 14hs from the scheduled time of arrival (STA)  it hasn't been closed  yet (PD entry submitted from check-in).
An alert will be sent by email listing all the flights which are going to be closed within the next 6 hours. This warning message will let the airline have more control over the flights that were NOT CLOSED, and prevent the execution of KIU AUTO PROCESS.
The JJCHK panel allows to add an email address to receive these warning messages.

On the JJCHK panel, under the section MESSAGE SETUP, an email address can be added to receive the warning messages for the PDW-PD WARNING indicator

  • Only one email address can be added.
  • Alerts are not created if there is no email address configured.
  • The flights listed for being  closed by KIU AUTO PROCESS within 6 hours are ordered according to the following criteria: Date/time of departure, flight number and departing airport.
  • If a flight included on an alert is not closed, it will be included on the next alert.

EMAIL ALERT LAYOUT

Below is an example of the alert that will be received for flights going to be closed via KIU AUTO PROCESS within the next six hours.
