This functionality allows any passenger holding a flight reservation either confirmed or not to be accepted on the waiting list  as a Standby passenger. Initially  the passenger  will be accepted as "SBY" (Standby ) and his/her weight counted for aircraft weight and balance while listed according to its Priority Code, if any.

A Boarding Pass showing "SBY" or "Standby" will be printed for waitlisted passengers and so a bag tag for any checked waitlisted piece of baggage.

When possible, a check- in agent will manually accept the "SBY" passengers according to the order established in the Priority Table which was previously configured by the airline.

As a "SBY" passenger is confirmed and accepted on the flight, so it is his/her luggage.

Once there is not any more seats available and before flight closeout, passengers who remain waitlisted should be discharged and transferred to a new flight if appropriate.

Waiting List Priority Codes Table

Check-in agents will assign a priority code entered on this table to a passenger while accepting him/her  on the waiting list. This will determine the order for acceptance from  the Wait List or "PLW"  (passengers on a waiting list for a flight / date in particular).

Passengers will be manually confirmed to board the flight as soon as there is any seat available.

Only agents with Duty 5 and the keyword CHKSBT on their sign will be able to manage this table and perform following actions:

  • ADD

a new code

  • MODIFY

an existing code

  • DELETE

an existing code

  • DISPLAY
