Managing the seat map from the control panel (version 2)

Introducción

Special feature configurations can be managed at check-in seat maps assigned to a flight. You can set special features for each seat at the time of check-in from the Flight Control Panel (PC)

Description

  • In order to manage the different characteristics that can be configured in the check-in seat map there are 2 types of versions.

  • Version 1 is the one distributed on all airlines and is the one that comes by default

  • Version 2 includes the possibility of configuring new special features, allowing  them to the same seat and also includes equipment  with 2 floors (upper and main deck)

  • The new multiple features that are included in version 2,configured to the same seat and the rows that identify the aircraft floor  (upper and main deck) are not available to be displayed in the graphic mode, they can only be displayed in command mode. In any case, if version 2 is activated, the graph containing the characteristics of version 1 can be displayed.

Activate version type:

  • The version to be used by the airline is configurable and the airline must request it to KIU Support for activation.

Soported Features

  • This version incorporates the possibility of assigning and displaying multiple characteristics to the same seat and allows managing new characteristics that are not in force in version 1 (seats that have an electricity charger, seats that allow assigning people in wheelchairs, seats that allow seating unaccompanied minors)

  • In the seats that are in the rows configured in the upper deck, special and multiple characteristics can also be configured (in the same way that it is configured in the main deck)
  • This configuration allows managing the map of seats that contain multiple characteristics in the same seat (both operational and commercial) and also incorporates the possibility of configuring/viewing seats that allow passengers with reduced mobility (wheelchair) and unaccompanied minor (unaccompanied minor).
  • These new features are only displayed in the drop-down seat map in the PV and PC, that is, they are not displayed in the graphic that is displayed at the time of check-in or when requesting the PS.
  • The special characteristics that can be associated (both for the upper deck and for the main deck) to the seats are the following:

Configuration of characteristics in the equipment seat map (with version 2)

Introduction

This chapter explains the methodology for assigning the special characteristics of the seats in the seating maps of the teams through the OAC; taking into account that the activation of the airline for the administration of seat maps is version 2.

Description

  • Special characteristics can be established for each seat and that they are defined with this characteristic in the seat map associated with a configuration
  • Depending on the type of activation that the airline has, there are 2 types of configuration in the administration and visualization of seat maps.
  • This chapter describes the methodology for assigning features with version 1 activated Version

Activation by type:

  • The version to be used by the airline is configurable by the customer and must be requested from Support for its configuration

Features supported by the version 2

  • This version incorporates the possibility of assigning and displaying multiple characteristics to the same seat and allows managing new characteristics that are not in force in version 1 (seats that have an electricity charger, seats that allow assigning people in wheelchairs, seats that allow unaccompanied minors to sit)
  • It also allows the configuration of seat maps identifying aircraft configurations with two floors. The upper deck is identified as the upper deck and the main deck as the main deck
  • In the seats that are in the rows configured in the upper deck, special and multiple characteristics can also be configured (in the same way that it is configured in the main deck)
  • This configuration It allows managing the map of seats that contain multiple characteristics in the same seat (both operational and commercial) and also incorporates the possibility of configuring/viewing seats that allow passengers with reduced mobility (wheelchair) and unaccompanied minor (unaccompanied minor).
  • These new features are only displayed on the drop-down seat map at the PV, PC, OAC and KPRS, that is, they are not displayed on the graph that is displayed at the time of check-in or when requesting the PS.

The special characteristics that can be associated (both for the upper deck and for the main deck) to the seats are the following:

Configure in the seat map

Special characteristics can be established for each seat and they are defined with this characteristic in the seat map associated with a configuration

To configure the characteristics Special features for each seat in the equipment the following steps must be performed

1. OAC/SMR157 (seat map retrieval to modify)
2. OAC/SMM/ (seat/row/column configuration)
3. OAC/SMV (seat map display modified seat map)
4. OAC/SME (save the changes made to the seat map)
5. OAC/SMI (ignores the changes made)

Retrieval of the seat map

Retrieve on screen the seat map to be configured with the following command:

To see the seat map of a reserved flight, the command is the following

OAC/SMR<seat map number>

Example:

OAC/SMR157

Description:

OACFixed command that identifies the configurations (Aircraft Configuration)
/Slash
SMSeat Map Indicator
R

Indicator to retrieve the map on the screen (Retrieve)

Modification/configuration of seat characteristics

  • The commands to configure the special characteristics of seats are as follows:
    • Once the seat map is displayed, the modification to be made must be indicated .
  • Depending on the version activated for managing seat map management, the commands to configure the special characteristics of seats are the following
OAC/SMM//<indicator><seat>

Where:

  • Indicator: is the configuration code of the special feature to configure (according to the table previously described; in this case for this version the code is two characters)
  • Seat: is the identification of the row and/or column of the seat to configure

Example:

OAC/SMM//AI10F

Description:

OACFixed command that identifies the configurations (Aircraft Configuration)
/Slash

Configuration options for more than u n seat/full row/full column

  • One seat: 2A
  • Multiple seats: 2AB3C
  • One full row: 4*
  • Multiple full rows: 4*5*
  • One seat and one full row: 3B5*

Equipment Row Configuration with two floors

  • With this version, the possibility of configuring seat maps for aircraft with two floors is introduced. The upper deck is identified as upper deck and the main deck as the main deck
  • It must be configured per full row and allows each seat located on the upper deck to be configured with any of the special characteristics supported (Infant/Unaccompanied Minor, etc.)

With this entry the permission is removed so that seat 10F can seat an adult with an infant

View / Redisplay seat map

Once the modifications have been registered in the seat map, the following command can be entered to view the changes made so far, with the following command:

OAC/SMV

Ignore seat map

On you can ignore what is being modified or created at any time:

OAC/SMI

Save seat map

Once all the indicators have been added, you must record/save give the seat map:

OAC/SME

Delete seat map

OAC/SMD{seat map number created}

Clone seat map

OAC/SMC{seat map number created}

Generate seat map graphic

Once the seat map is created, we can generate the graph or drawing of it.

OAC/SMG{seat map number created}

  • If the configuration of a seat map, which is being used on a flight, is modified, the changes will not be reflected automatically, but the license plate in use will have to be unassigned, assign another and then reassign the one you originally had.
  • At this time the changes made in the OAC/SM will be reflected.

Visualization of multiple characteristics of a seat

  • The option of visualizing all the characteristics configured in the same seat is incorporated.
  • Seats that have multiple features can be identified on the map display with a "+" sign for the commercial features that seat has, and a "*" sign when it has multiple operational features
  • Identification of multiple characteristics for the same entry (from the SMR or with the SMV)
